Ia Orana (hello). We departed the Tahiti InterContinental Hotel at 9:10 with a shuttle to the Tahiti airport. Our flight to Bora Bora will be around 50 minutes long. While reading Air Tahiti’s magazine in the plane I learned that this airline flies to somewhere around 60 islands in this area – most of which I have never heard of. I would love to explore more of this part of the world.

While boarding our plane on the outside tarmac, I saw a Four Season jet parked which I am sure is used for their private world tours. How cool would that be!

We touched down at the Bora Bora International airport pictured below. As you can see it is quite small.

Our luggage was delivered by a small tractor and trailer which didn’t take long.

Once we got our bags we were shuttled to the Bora Bora InterContinental Hotel by their shuttle boats.

This is a picture of our hotel.

The steps lead down to the “green” water which is about 4 – 5 foot deep. I walked out into the bay for a long way and the water depth didn’t change. It is like one monster swimming pool!

Inside our room. I have looked at the brochures for years and dreamed of staying here. I can’t believe we are actually here.

Pool after dark.

Walkway that leads to our room. It is very quiet here – especially at night. The water is very calm – great for snorkeling and swimming. The stars look amazing.
