I checked in with the helicopter tour folks and we had to reschedule due to weather conditions at the glacier. This put a smile on Jane’s face because now we get to go shopping in Queenstown! (Oh boy)! We are to check in with them at 2:00 as they rescheduled us for 3:00 pm. (Fingers crossed).
With this flight we will see the dramatic views of majestic Southern Alps and Aspiring National Park. Discover the ancient icefalls of glaciers before an alpine snow landing. Stand in snow surrounded by stunning mountain peaks. See lake Wakatipu’s mysterious northern shores, bush covered valleys, unparalleled views of Mount Aspiring and the mighty Rees and Dart River valleys.
Our flight just got canceled due to weather which is a big disappointment but I fully understand. So what is the best next thing?
Wine tasting seemed to dull the pain. We spent the reminder of the day exploring Queenstown.
We had some great mussels. (One is missing because I ate it prior to taking the picture). 🙂
Tomorrow we leave for Nelson which will be warmer and filled with cool beaches.
