THE LIKULIKU LAGOON RESORT

We settled into our room (see pictures below). This is a very private small resort which is the quietest place on earth. All you hear is the small waves hitting the shore.

Fiji is made up of 333 islands of which 110 are inhabited. There are two main islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. This accounts for 87% of the population of over 900,000 people. There are small private resorts on many islands which is very impressive.

There is no sense of urgency which is hard for me to get used to. The people are simple and certainty not in any hurry. The beauty lies within as it is naturally landscaped and feels like you are in the middle of a jungle.

No cars – no roads, transportation is all done by boat. Wi-Fi – is limited to the lobby with no tv in the room other than to be used for watching movies. We are defiantly unplugged. It is a crazy feeling not being able to wake up and check emails or read other things on your phone.

The weather is a balmy 80 degrees with a nice down pour in the afternoon. There are very few people mingling however we met a nice couple from Kentucky.

Good news is the US dollar goes along way here as it is worth roughly two Fijian dollars.

There is a beautiful infinity pool picture below.

We brought electrical adapters for all our electronics only to learn that we didn’t have the right ones. Luckily the front desk fixed us up.

The employees have been trained to memorize the guests’ names as well as always make eye contact. This is also very impressive.

I got the wild idea to ask about a private island and if it was possible. As it turns out the resort owns a private island whereby you can visit for two hours. We took them up on the offer and got delivered by boat to our very own private island. This was something I always wanted to do.

It was quite an experience. See pictures below.
